| 09:30 A | | Dealing with Disability The January Adult Education series features the voices and wisdom of several SFB members who deal with disability. In some cases, their disabilities are visible; in other cases they may not be. In all cases, they have daily impact on the persons who experience them – both those directly involved as well as the partners or spouses of those persons. We will hear the voices of several SFB members – and we will refl ect on how we, as a congregation, can be as welcoming as possible to those among us who live with a disability. Highlighting and beginning each session will be an essay written and read by Margaret Shannon Robertson from her new book, A Thousand Candles of Light. Margaret is remembered by many SFB members for the many years that she and her husband Fred Shannon were SFB regulars. Filled with inspiring and insightful stories of her amazing life with Fred, who throughout his life became increasingly disabled by muscular dystrophy, these essays shine light on the power that love and community can bring to even the most challenging of situations.

For many of us, that happens all the time, whether it’s during the sermon or adult education. This is an opportunity to reflect on what we heard that was of special signifi cance. It is a way of sharing our Sunday experience together before we go back out into the world. We’ll just take 15-20 minutes to share our thoughts, the highlights of our Sunday, and say a prayer to guide us during the week. Hope to see you there! End Time: ~12:50 P Location: Hintz Chapel |
